Mission Statement

The Brookfield Riding and Driving Association is a non-profit equine association striving to represent the interests of horse owners, breeders, trainers and enthusiasts in our community. Our vision is to promote the equine businesses in our area, the show grounds at the Madison County Fairgrounds and the 130 mile beautiful Brookfield Trail System.

We will offer shows and programs that follow the rules and regulations set forth by each discipline's governing body.

We installed new footing in the horse show arena and began renovations of some of the horse stalls at the Madison County Fairgrounds in July 2011 - a project that is on-going.

Madison County Horse Owners:  Please go here for information on the Madison County Cornell Cooperative Extension Equine Survey.  Gathering information on the economic impact of our industry on Madison County will do us ALL a world of good!

2013 Update - our May 11th Open Horse Show and the Madison County Fair Open English/Western Horse Show have been approved by The Jockey Club for inclusion in the Thoroughbred Incentive Program.

The Brookfield Trail System has over 130 miles of trails set throughout three state forests:
The Charles E Baker State Forest is off Moscow Road and contains the Assembly Area; the Brookfield Railroad State Forest is off Vider Road; and the Beaver Creek State Forest is off Fairground Road, just past the Madison County Fairgrounds.  These three forests collectively provide 13,750 acres of public reforestation lands for horseback riding and snowmobiling.  Each link will take you to a page describing each area and includes a link to a pdf map of the trails in that particular section of the trail system.
For those wishing to take the Auto Tour Guide through the Charles E. Baker State Forest, click here for directions and photos of each designated stop.
